The Role As an Intermediate Accountant, you will be involved in both client-facing and technical work, supporting clients day-to-day and building strong advisory capability.
Client Interaction & Experience - Work closely with clients, proactively updating them, answering queries and creating a memorable client experience.
- Run client meetings for individuals and smaller business clients.
- Conduct pre-meeting calls, needs analyses and prepare agendas, slide decks and meeting materials.
- Attend client meetings, often shadowing a Senior Adviser to develop your advisory and communication skills.
Advisory & Collaborative Work - Assist with advisory engagements including tax planning, cashflow and forecasting models.
- Support and attend performance management meetings and assist in preparing business valuations.
- Work collaboratively within the Integrated Advice Team to deliver client recommendations consistently and professionally.
- Understand bookkeeping fundamentals and review live accounting data files.
Technical Responsibilities - Prepare tax returns, financial statements, BAS and related working papers and documentation.
- Gain exposure to GST, CGT, FBT, Div7A and other complex tax matters.
- Reconcile accounts including loan accounts and R&D offsets.
- Consolidate family groups with complex structures and inter-entity transactions.
- Liaise with clients, the ATO and external parties to manage queries and compliance.
Workflow, Compliance & Process Improvement - Manage job planning, file notes, checklists, engagement letters, fee agreements and invoicing.
- Follow internal systems and contribute to continuous improvement of processes, ensuring high-quality, compliant and “next practice” standards.

What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce or Finance.
- CPA/CA studies commenced..
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar public practice accountant role.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in both client interaction and technical growth.
- Someone proactive, collaborative and eager to develop into an advisory-focused accountant.
