The Opportunity:
Working closely with a Senior Solicitor, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day management of a busy Personal Injury practice. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive Legal Secretary who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of their files and workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
• Managing busy legal diaries and scheduling appointments, conferences, mediations and hearings
• Monitoring and managing incoming correspondence and emails
• Preparing, drafting and formatting legal documents and correspondence
• Drafting applications, pleadings, affidavits, consent orders and court documents
• Liaising with clients, barristers, medical professionals, courts and third parties
• Preparing briefs to counsel, hearing files, tender bundles and settlement documentation
• Maintaining electronic and physical files and ensuring matters progress efficiently
• Monitoring critical dates and limitation periods
• Billing, invoicing and trust account administration
• Ensuring matters are finalised and prepared for archiving
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant
• Previous experience within Personal Injury Law
• Strong knowledge of Workers Compensation, Public Liability, Motor Vehicle Accident, TPD or Common Law matters (highly regarded)
• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong document production and drafting skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• A compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with clients
• Confidence working autonomously while remaining a valued team contributor
