Accountant - Hybrid Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Accountant to join their close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working autonomously, managing their own portfolio and providing clients with a complete end-to-end service.
About the Role:
You’ll join an experienced accounting team where you’ll have ownership of your client portfolio while being supported by a collaborative administration and offshore support team.
The client base is predominantly made up of SMEs, trades and family-owned businesses, providing plenty of variety across your day-to-day work.
You will be responsible for:
• Managing your own portfolio of clients from start to finish
• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns
• Providing ongoing accounting and tax advice to clients
• Managing SME, family business and individual clients
• Working across a varied portfolio including SMSFs
• Liaising directly with clients and building long-term relationships
• Managing workflow and deadlines independently
• Keeping up to date with relevant tax and accounting legislation
• Working collaboratively with the wider accounting and administration teams
About you:
We’re looking for an experienced Accountant who is confident managing clients autonomously and enjoys building genuine long-term relationships.
Ideally, you will have:
• Previous experience within public practice accounting
• Strong end-to-end accounting and taxation experience
• Experience managing an SME-focused client portfolio
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
• A proactive and client-focused approach
• Experience with Xero and XPM is highly regarded
• Experience with FYI and BGL 360 is advantageous
