The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an
Intermediate Accountant to join a growing accounting team in Sydney CBD. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with 2-3 years of relevant experience who is looking to strengthen their skills across business services, taxation and financial reporting.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you will gain exposure to a variety of clients while developing your technical knowledge and building a strong foundation for long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities - Assist with preparing financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts.
- Assist with tax compliance procedures and tax planning for clients.
- Prepare clear, accurate and well-documented workpapers.
- Review financial statements and management accounts to identify and correct errors.
- Identify accounting issues and assist with resolving client matters.
- Complete regulatory forms and ensure compliance with lodgment deadlines.
- Stay informed about relevant client, industry and accounting developments.
Ideally, you’ll have: - A degree in Business or Commerce, majoring in Accounting.
- 2–3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Commenced, or keen to commence, CA or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
- A proactive attitude and genuine interest in developing your accounting career.
