Are you a property lawyer who enjoys variety and doesn't necessarily want to be pigeonholed into one particular area of practice?
This is an opportunity to join a growing boutique firm with an established property practice, a great client base and a genuinely lovely team. The firm is looking for an Associate-level lawyer who enjoys the breadth of property law, is comfortable handling a varied workload and wants to be part of a close-knit practice where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.
This is a broad property role, working across a mix of general property and commercial property matters. You'll be exposed to a varied and sometimes unusual range of work, including:
- Commercial property transactions and leasing.
- Property development and associated matters.
- Boundary disputes and adverse possession claims.
- Building and property-related issues, including water ingress.
- Conveyancing and general property advice.
- Property disputes, should this be an area of interest.
The firm is looking for someone with well-rounded property experience, ideally from a smaller or mid-sized practice where you've had the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of matters and develop strong generalist skills.
The Firm & Culture This is a genuinely close-knit boutique firm that has experienced steady growth over the past few years, building out its practice areas and developing strong relationships with its clients and referrers.
With around 24 people, the firm has a friendly, collaborative environment where people know each other, enjoy spending time together and are invested in the success of the broader team. The leadership team places a real emphasis on creating a positive workplace, listening to staff feedback and ensuring people feel supported.
Learning and development are also a genuine priority. The firm has its own internal training program, regular CPD and monthly all-firm meetings, encouraging knowledge-sharing and keeping everyone across changes in legislation, technology and best practice.
Why Consider This Opportunity? - A genuinely varied property practice with plenty of interesting work.
- A supportive and approachable leadership team.
- A close-knit environment where you'll get to know your colleagues and have direct access to senior practitioners.
- Achievable billable expectations of approximately 5.5 hours per day.
- Hybrid working arrangements following probation.
- Genuine flexibility around part-time arrangements, with four days per week a realistic option.
- Regular team events, a strong focus on wellbeing and ongoing professional development.
You'll ideally have: - 4-6 years' post-admission experience in property law.
- Broad property experience, ideally gained within a smaller or mid-sized practice.
- Exposure to commercial property, leasing and general property transactions.
- Experience with a range of property matters, including disputes or more unusual property issues.
- Strong technical, drafting and client relationship skills.
- A practical, approachable attitude and an interest in working within a collaborative team.
The firm is open to considering lawyers seeking a four-day working week and would also consider other part-time arrangements for the right person.
