The Opportunity:
This role is ideally suited to an experienced Senior Accountant with 5+ years' experience who is looking to move beyond traditional compliance and gain greater exposure to business advisory and client relationship management.
You will own a portfolio of SME clients from end-to-end, working across compliance, tax planning, structuring and advisory while having the support of an experienced technical team and offshore resources.

Key Responsibilities: - Prepare tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Prepare BAS, IAS and financial statements
- Manage a portfolio of SME clients from end-to-end
- Take ownership of client relationships and communicate directly with business owners
- Complete tax planning and business advisory work
- Provide support and advice across business structuring and strategic matters
- Manage end-to-end jobs and ensure work is completed accurately and within deadlines
- Delegate appropriate compliance and accounting tasks to the offshore team
- Review and manage work completed by offshore team members
- Identify opportunities to add value to clients beyond traditional compliance
- Work closely with senior team members on technical accounting and taxation matters
- Build strong, long-term relationships with clients and understand their broader business objectives
- Contribute to process improvement and the continued growth of the firm
Ideally, you'll have: - 5+ years' experience within public practice or a corporate accounting environment
- CA or CPA qualified, or currently working towards completion
- Strong technical knowledge across Australian accounting and taxation
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across multiple entity types
- Strong BAS and IAS experience
- Exposure to tax planning, business advisory or structuring
- Strong experience with Xero and Xero Tax
- Comfortable working with modern cloud-based accounting systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Self-driven, proactive and eager to continue learning
- Strong client relationship and communication skills
- Confident working autonomously and taking ownership of client work
- Comfortable delegating and working with an offshore support team
- Sydney-based or willing to relocate
