An established public practice accounting firm is looking to welcome a motivated Senior Accountant to its team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid Australian public practice experience who enjoys working across a broad range of accounting and taxation matters and building strong client relationships.
The Opportunity:
Working within a great team, you will manage a varied workload across accounting, taxation and compliance. This role would suit an experienced
Senior Accountant who is confident working independently, communicates well with clients and is looking for long-term career development within public practice.
Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and lodge company and individual tax returns.
- Prepare BAS, financial statements and tax reconciliations.
- Manage GST, PAYG and general taxation compliance.
- Review accounting records and assist with day-to-day client accounting and administration.
- Liaise directly with clients and the ATO.
- Manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and high-quality client service.
Ideally, you’ll have: - Solid Australian public practice accounting experience.
- Confident preparing company and individual tax returns independently.
- Strong knowledge of BAS, GST, PAYG and general tax compliance.
- Proficiency in Xero, with experience using other accounting and tax software advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with Australian clients.
- Organised, reliable and comfortable managing competing priorities.
- Able to work autonomously while contributing positively to a small team.
- Keen to develop your skills and build a long-term career in public practice.
