If you’re an experienced family lawyer looking for somewhere you can build a long-term career without sacrificing your life outside work, this could be a really exciting move!
A well-established suburban practice is looking to welcome a Senior Associate-level Family Lawyer into a genuinely close-knit team. This is a firm where culture isn’t just something they talk about; the team is highly social, supportive and collaborative, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance is a real priority for management.
The practice has grown through strong client relationships and a reputation for quality work, and they’re looking for someone who can bring their own experience and client relationships with them, while having the freedom and support to grow their practice further.
Family Law will be your primary focus, with the opportunity to develop some exposure to Wills & Estates and Property alongside your core practice.
You’ll have the autonomy to run your own matters and client relationships, with the level of independence tailored to your experience. For a senior lawyer, there is no micromanagement — you’ll have plenty of room to take ownership while still being part of a genuinely collaborative team.
The work is broad across family law, with a client base largely made up of mums and dads and a strong focus on parenting and property matters.
You’ll also have access to: - Weekly file meetings where the team shares ideas and works through complex matters together
- Support from the Principal and experienced family lawyers
- PAs and law students to assist with your matters
- Regular performance and salary reviews
- A clear pathway to Partnership for the right person
We're particularly interested in someone who has demonstrated an ability to build and maintain a client base and is ready to hit the ground running.
You’ll also be someone who genuinely enjoys being part of a team. With around 16 staff, this is a close-knit environment where people work in each other’s space, have a laugh and regularly socialise together. Someone who prefers to keep their head down and work in isolation probably won't be the right fit.
Work-life balance is genuinely achievable. With a target of around 5.5 billable hours per day, the expectation is challenging but realistic, with management conscious of maintaining a sustainable working environment.
You’ll also receive:
- WFH flexibility
- On-site parking
- $2,000 annual Business Development budget at SA level
- $4,000 annual CPD budget at SA level
- All required professional certificates covered
- Regular team events and social outings
- Yearly performance reviews
- Strong mentorship and collaboration
- A genuine pathway to Partnership
If you’re an experienced Family Lawyer who wants autonomy, quality work and the opportunity to build something long-term while still working with a team you actually enjoy being around, I’d love to hear from you!
