The Opportunity: As Supervisor / Assistant Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of the practice, combining hands-on accounting work with reviewing, mentoring and technical problem-solving.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising, mentoring and supporting senior accountants, including reviewing work and assisting with technical queries.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, individuals and SMSFs.
- Identifying and resolving complex taxation issues, particularly those relating to deceased estates and estate administration.
- Assisting with financial statements for not-for-profit organisations, testamentary trusts and special disability trusts.
- Preparing interim accounts for tax planning and year-end distribution minutes.
- Managing client queries and developing strong, professional relationships.
- Supporting the team with technical matters, deadlines and ongoing process improvements.
About You: You are a technically strong accountant with substantial Australian public practice experience who enjoys taking ownership, supporting colleagues and delivering high-quality work.
To be successful, you will have: - At least 10 years’ experience in Australian public practice accounting.
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Previous experience reviewing financial statements and tax returns.
- Strong technical knowledge across tax compliance and business services.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients.
- The ability to manage competing deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively.
- A willingness to learn, develop and build expertise in a specialist area of taxation.
Experience with estates and trusts would be advantageous, although training and support will be provided to help you develop your knowledge in this specialised field.
