A well-established Victorian law firm is looking to add a Wills & Estates Solicitor to its growing team, based in McKinnon. This is a busy practice with a strong pipeline of work across litigation, estate planning and administration, offering an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their career within a supportive and collegiate environment
The Opportunity Working as part of an established Wills & Estates team, you will have exposure to a varied range of matters, including estate planning, complex estate
administration and related litigation.
The team works collaboratively, with more complex matters shared across the practice. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a highly experienced senior practitioner who is well regarded within the profession and takes an active role in mentoring and supporting junior members of the team.
This is a hands-on environment where you will have access to experienced practitioners, practical guidance and plenty of opportunity to develop your technical skills. You will be encouraged to take ownership of your matters while knowing there is a strong team around you.
The broader office is made up of approximately 15 people across Property, Commercial and Wills & Estates, with dedicated legal support available.
About You You will ideally be a solicitor with experience in Wills & Estates, although the level of experience is flexible for the right person.
You may have experience across some or all of the following:
- Wills and Powers of Attorney
- Estate planning
- Probate and Letters of Administration
- Estate administration
- Contested estates and estate disputes
- Complex or high-value estate matters
You will be someone who enjoys technically interesting work but also understands the importance of the client relationship. The firm's clients are predominantly individuals, couples, families and small business owners, meaning you will work with everyday Australians as well as clients with more complex personal, business and asset structures.
Strong communication skills, sound judgement and an empathetic approach are important. You will also be collaborative and comfortable working in a team environment where asking questions, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues is encouraged.
The Firm This is a well-established Victorian practice with a statewide presence and almost five decades of experience. The firm has accredited specialists across Wills & Estates, Property and Commercial Law and provides advice to both individuals and businesses.
Its approach is centered around providing quality legal advice, achieving effective resolutions and developing practical, commercially sensible solutions for clients.

Flexibility & Benefits The firm takes a genuinely flexible approach to working arrangements. While there is an appreciation for the value of being in the office and having face-to-face interaction with clients, particularly given the nature of the Wills & Estates client base, working from home is supported where appropriate.
There is no traditional timed billing budget, with matters instead managed through item-based costing. A quarterly bonus scheme is also available.
