Ready to take ownership of your career and play a bigger role in a growing commercial practice? This is an opportunity for an experienced commercial lawyer to step into a role with genuine autonomy, leadership responsibility and a clear pathway for progression.
The practice is busy, the work is coming in, and they are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and become a key part of the team.
You’ll work across a genuinely broad commercial practice, advising businesses and their owners on a variety of transactional and advisory matters. This is not a role where you’ll be confined to one particular type of work; there is plenty of variety, and the opportunity to build on your existing commercial expertise.
Your matters will include: - Buying and selling businesses
- M&A and corporate transactions
- Shareholder agreements and corporate structuring
- Trusts and ASIC matters
- Franchising
- Liquor licensing
- Mining leases and mining transactions
- Mortgages and loan agreements
- Broader commercial and business advisory matters
You’ll have the opportunity to run your own matters with a high degree of autonomy and work directly with clients, while having junior lawyers around you to delegate to, mentor and develop.
You’ll be trusted to take ownership of your work and will have the opportunity to play a genuine leadership role within the team. There are currently 2 junior lawyers who can support you with the day-to-day work, giving you the space to focus on your clients, matters and the more strategic side of the practice.
There is also a genuine pathway for progression for the right person. As the practice continues to grow, there is scope to take on greater responsibility and help shape the future direction of the team.
The culture is another big part of the appeal. You’ll be joining a friendly, tight-knit team in a great office environment where people work closely together and genuinely know one another.
You’ll ideally be 5+ years PQE with strong corporate and commercial experience. You’ll be someone who:
- Has solid experience across commercial transactions and advisory work
- Is confident running matters autonomously
- Can advise clients directly and build strong relationships
- Has experience with a number of the practice areas outlined above
- Enjoys mentoring and delegating to junior lawyers
- Has initiative and can hit the ground running
- Is looking for a genuine opportunity to progress
What’s on offer - Generous salary starting at $160,000 depending on experience
- 1 day WFH per week after the initial 3 months
- Genuine progression as the practice continues to grow
- Annual salary reviews
- Referral bonus
- Realistic billing expectations with a strong pipeline of work
- Friendly, tight-knit team and a great office environment
If you’re ready for more ownership, more responsibility and a clearer path forward, this is a role worth exploring.
