We are currently partnering with a highly regarded commercial law firm seeking a Construction Lawyer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer who wants to work on high-quality construction matters, receive genuine mentorship and continue developing their expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Depending on your experience and interests, your work may include:
Front-End Construction - Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts, including bespoke and standard form agreements;
- Advising clients on procurement strategies, risk management and contract interpretation;
- Supporting clients throughout tender processes and project planning;
- Advising on regulatory requirements, approvals and project delivery issues;
- Working closely with developers, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
Construction Disputes - Managing construction disputes through negotiation, mediation and litigation;
- Advising on claims including delays, variations, defects and payment disputes;
- Preparing court documents and assisting with litigation strategy;
- Representing clients in court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution;
- Providing strategic advice on risk management and dispute avoidance.
The construction and commercial litigation teams work closely together, providing opportunities for lawyers interested in broader commercial disputes exposure.
About You We are open to candidates from 2+ years PQE through to senior practitioners, including those looking to step into a more senior role with mentoring and leadership responsibilities.
You will ideally have: - Private practice construction law experience;
- Experience working on front-end construction matters, construction disputes or both;
- Strong drafting, negotiation and advisory skills;
- A genuine interest in developing your construction expertise.
The team is particularly interested in lawyers coming from recognised construction practices or boutique firms; however, they are open to strong candidates with relevant experience from a range of backgrounds.
