About the Role This is an opportunity for a skilled family lawyer who is confident managing both parenting and property matters, and is ready to take ownership of files while working closely with a Director and a highly capable law clerk.
While support and mentorship are available, you'll be trusted to work with a high degree of autonomy and expected to bring initiative, sound judgment, and genuine care to both your clients and your matters.
What You’ll Be Doing You’ll handle a variety of family law work with a focus on:
- Parenting and property matters
- Child and spousal support issues
- Intervention order applications
Your day to day will involve: - Drafting and preparing a range of court documents, including Initiating Applications, Responses, Affidavits, Binding Financial Agreements, and Consent Orders
- Reviewing disclosure material, financial documents, and subpoena returns
- Providing tailored legal advice and correspondence to clients with care and precision
- Liaising with clients, barristers, courts, and experts in a professional and proactive manner
- Managing deadlines and progressing matters efficiently while maintaining a high standard of work
- Supporting the practice with diary management, time recording, and end-of-month billing
- Getting involved in business development and staying up to date with family law developments
What We’re Looking For - 3-5 years post admission experience in family law
- Confident in both parenting and property law matters
- Ability to work autonomously with sound legal judgment and initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable managing complex documents and meeting litigation deadlines
- Previous experience in a client focused role, ideally in a family law setting
- A positive, professional attitude and a genuine interest in delivering strong outcomes for clients
