Our client is seeking an Intermediate or early Senior Accountant to join their growing Business Advisory team in Melbourne CBD. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to step up into more end-to-end responsibility, strengthen their technical capability, and gain exposure to advisory work within a supportive mid-tier style environment.
You will work across a collaborative team structure, with opportunities to support and learn from experienced senior staff while also guiding junior accountants.

The Role
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services across a diverse SME client base, while also supporting the development and review of junior staff.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and review end-to-end financial statements and income tax returns
- Support and review work completed by graduates and junior accountants (including offshore support where applicable)
- Manage core tax compliance matters including Division 7A, Capital Gains Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax and Goods and Services Tax
- Assist with business advisory work and value-add client support
- Provide feedback and guidance to junior team members
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax legislation
- Work closely with senior staff across multiple teams
- Assist with workflow management and meeting deadlines
- Contribute to improving processes and team efficiency
- Approximately 3–5 years’ experience in Australian public practice
- Strong foundation in tax compliance and financial reporting
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns
- Exposure to reviewing junior staff work
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach
- CA or CPA qualified or currently completing
- Experience with SME clients
- Exposure to advisory work including CGT, FBT and Division 7A
