The Opportunity Due to growth and ongoing transformation, the firm is seeking a Junior Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper (1-2 years’ experience) to join the team.
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Has solid bookkeeping experience and wants to expand into tax
- Enjoys working closely with clients
- Is keen to be part of a firm transitioning to modern cloud-based systems
You’ll primarily focus on bookkeeping and BAS work while gaining exposure to tax compliance and advisory support.
Your Responsibilities - Managing end-to-end bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
- Preparing and lodging BAS, IAS, payroll (STP), and superannuation
- Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintaining general ledgers and processing journal entries
- Assisting with financial statements and income tax returns
- Supporting tax compliance and basic advisory work
- Liaising directly with clients on bookkeeping matters
- Collaborating with the broader team to support workflow and client outcomes
About You - 1-2 years’ experience in public practice or bookkeeping
- Strong proficiency in Xero
- Experience with BAS, GST, and payroll compliance
- Exposure to QuickBooks or MYOB (desirable, not essential)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and grow into a broader accounting role
