Litigation Lawyer 2-3 PQE

Looking for a litigation role where you can do good work without feeling like you’re just another number?
This is a genuinely close-knit Melbourne firm that has grown steadily over the past four years while being very deliberate about maintaining its culture. With around 24 people across the practice, you’ll know everyone in the office, work closely with the Directors and be part of a team where people genuinely enjoy working together.
The opportunity
You’ll work across a broad range of commercial litigation matters, working closely with an experienced Senior Practitioner and taking responsibility for your own files.
The team acts across all stages of litigation, so this role will suit someone who enjoys the variety that comes with being a commercial litigator rather than being confined to one particular type of dispute.
What makes it different?
The billables. The target is just 5.5 billable hours per day, and the team considers this very achievable. They have enough work coming through that you won’t be expected to spend your evenings chasing time just to hit an unrealistic target.
It’s also a firm that genuinely invests in its people. There is a strong focus on CPD and continuous development, with an internal training program, regular knowledge sharing and monthly all-firm meetings where everyone gets across changes in legislation, technology and the broader practice.

- Strong commercial litigation experience and the confidence to manage your own matters
- The ability to work autonomously while still being part of a collaborative team
- A genuine interest in developing your technical skills and continuing to learn
- A personable, team-oriented approach – this is a small practice where culture really matters
- The confidence to work across a broad range of litigated matters
