Property & Commercial Lawyer - 5+ yrs PQE

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded lawyer to join a dynamic, collaborative and growing legal practice in Melbourne’s CBD.

This role has been created to bridge an important gap within the team, offering a unique mix of property and commercial work. It is ideal for a senior practitioner who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working closely with clients on matters across both disciplines.

You will operate across both the property and commercial practice areas, working closely with senior lawyers and partners on a diverse and interesting workload. The role has been designed for someone who can confidently pick up and run files with minimal supervision. Your work will include:

Property & Conveyancing

• Complex conveyancing matters
• Commercial leasing (drafting, review, and negotiation)
• Lease disputes and tenancy issues
• Property transfers, including trust and succession-related transactions
• End to end management of conveyancing files

Commercial

• Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and agreements
• Terms and conditions, loan and security documentation
• Mortgage-related documentation and transactional support
• Structuring and advisory work for commercial clients
• Broader commercial matters across a varied client base

You will also have exposure to developer and business clients with overlapping property, funding and commercial needs, requiring a practical, solutions focused approach.

About You:

• Approximately 3+ years PQE across property, commercial or a blended practice
• Strong technical ability with confidence managing files independently
• Experience across conveyancing, leasing and/or commercial drafting
• A commercial mindset and strong client communication skills
• The ability to work across multiple practice areas in a fast paced environment
• A collaborative, practical and proactive approach

This is a genuinely long term opportunity with significant scope for growth. The firm is highly open to career progression pathways, including Senior Associate, Special Counsel, and potentially Partner level opportunities, depending on experience and fit.
