Our client is a well-established boutique accounting practice located in Geelong CBD, providing taxation, compliance, SMSF and business advisory services to a loyal and growing client base.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant who is looking to step away from corporate-style structures and take ownership of a client portfolio in a genuinely autonomous, close-knit environment.
You will work directly with clients and the Director, taking responsibility for end-to-end compliance and advisory work while enjoying a high level of independence and trust.
This role is ideal for an accountant who values client relationships, autonomy, and long-term career stability within a small, supportive team.

THE ROLE
You will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of business and individual clients, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of business and individual clients
- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals and SMSFs
- Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS returns
- Provide taxation and business advisory services
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Contribute to workflow management and meeting deadlines
- Ensure compliance with Australian tax legislation and accounting standards
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in Australian public practice
- Confident managing your own client portfolio
- Strong communication and client relationship management skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Proactive, self-directed and solutions-focused approach
- Experience with SME clients, trusts, companies and SMSFs
- Exposure to MYOB Practice Manager, Xero, MYOB and Microsoft Office Suite advantageous
