About the Role As a Senior Accountant, you’ll manage a portfolio of clients, oversee junior staff, and deliver high-quality compliance and advisory work. You'll play a key role in the workflow process and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities Compliance & Technical Work - Prepare complex financial statements and income tax returns
- Adhere to compliance workflow processes and deadlines
- Prepare clear, concise workpapers with minimal rework
- Complete first reviews of C & D class clients prepared by junior staff
- Assist with tax planning, financial analysis and advisory documents
- Support managers with ATO audits and complex client matters
- Ensure accuracy in reconciliations and information gathering
Client Management & Advisory - Manage a small client allocation and act as Job Manager on C & D class jobs
- Communicate advisory and correspondence in a timely, professional manner
- Run meetings for small business and personal tax clients
- Provide initial drafts and research for advisory matters (CGT rollovers, forecasting, valuations)
Team Leadership - Mentor, coach and supervise junior accountants
- Oversee outsourced staff utilisation and performance
- Assist with training, onboarding and acting as a Buddy for new starters
- Contribute to a positive team culture and encourage collaboration
Firm Contribution - Uphold firm values and professional integrity
- Follow internal policies and help enhance efficiencies
- Complete daily timesheets and manage WIP/invoicing
- Participate in firm-wide initiatives and continuous improvement

About You You’re a committed accounting professional who takes ownership of your work, supports your team and thrives in a collaborative environment.
You will have: - Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related discipline
- Completed CA or CPA (or nearing completion)
- Xero and payroll certification
- Strong understanding of taxation laws and accounting standards
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Experience managing jobs, reviewing junior staff work, and delivering high-quality outcomes
