Our client is a well-established firm based in Melbourne, with approximately 50 staff across Melbourne, Queensland, and offshore teams. The Melbourne office is the largest and operates as a close-knit, long-standing team with strong retention and a genuinely supportive culture.
THE ROLE
You will support client portfolio delivery, assist with compliance work, and play a key role in reviewing and mentoring junior accountants. This is a hands-on role with exposure across tax, accounting, and advisory tasks.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with the management of client portfolios
- Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, BAS & IAS
- Support Directors with client delivery and workflow management
- Review work and provide feedback where required
- Assist with compliance across a range of SME clients
- Work across accounting, tax and general compliance matters
- Identify issues and support practical client solutions
- Contribute to improving internal processes and efficiency
- Provide occasional support to junior team members
- Ensure deadlines and compliance requirements are met
ABOUT YOU - 4–5 years+ experience in Australian public practice
- Confident reviewing work
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
- Comfortable working across multiple client files
- CA or CPA qualified (or near completion) preferred
- Experience with SME clients highly regarded
- Proactive and willing to support junior staff when needed
