A high performing Melbourne firm is seeking an experienced litigator to join its growing litigation team at
Senior Associate or Junior Special Counsel level. This is a genuine step up opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys hands- on work, autonomy, and mentoring others, while continuing to run complex and high quality matters.
The Role
You will take
full carriage of complex litigation matters, working closely with senior practitioners and a sophisticated client base that includes large corporates, high-net-worth individuals and major finance clients. The role is hands on and strategic, with direct client contact and real influence over how matters are run.
The work is varied and engaging, including:
- Debt recovery, finance litigation and bankruptcy matters
- Various contractual, property and partnership disputes
- Acting on contested matters across multiple jurisdictions
You will also play a key role in
supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, contributing to strategy, workflow and decision-making across the practice.
The Team & Culture
This is a
close knit, boutique environment with a genuinely collegiate culture. The firm operates in a modern, open plan office and values collaboration, approachability and balance. Lawyers work hard, but the culture is relaxed, supportive and human.. no rigid hierarchy, no micromanagement.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out - Full autonomy and carriage of quality litigation files
- Clear leadership pathway for Senior Associates stepping up and ongoing career pathways
- Exposure to high calibre clients typically seen in top tier firms
- Supportive partners who are invested in mentoring and development
- Flexible work arrangements, including WFH options
- Quarterly performance reviews and annual salary reviews
- Social, friendly team with regular events and strong job security
The Ideal Candidate This role will suit a
Senior Associate ready for a leadership role or a
Junior Special Counsel who enjoys complex litigation, mentoring juniors and working closely with clients. Strong commercial acumen, confidence managing files end-to-end, and a collaborative mindset are key.
